Wildfire Credit Union
Welcome to another Spotlight 365, the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce’s newest digital initiative to shine a spotlight on the stories of our membership. Today, we’re featuring Wildfire Credit Union!
Wildfire's story began on September 9, 1937, as Saginaw Telephone Employees Credit Union, it would be the starting point of a trail filled with light. Helping to guide people to their dreams.
Today Wildfire has four branches in the Great Lakes Bay Region of Michigan, along with three school branches and a business office in Mt. Pleasant. Wildfire serves the entire state of Michigan allowing anyone who works, lives, worships or attends school in the state of Michigan to join. Just as they did during our humble beginnings over 80 years ago, they continue to strive to be the best place for their members to manage their finances and serve their community. At Wildfire Credit Union, they understand that every business has a unique path. That’s why they offer a full range of financial solutions from commercial loans and real estate lending to business credit cards, treasury management, and more tailored to fit your journey.
Leading the way is Michelle Vannest, VP of Business Services, who brings over 30 years of expertise in commercial lending and relationship-building. Serving businesses in Midland, Isabella, and Gladwin counties, Michelle is your trusted local partner. She is ready to help you overcome obstacles, capture opportunities, and move forward with confidence. Whether you’re a small start-up or an established enterprise, Wildfire’s business services provide the tools and personal support you need to manage finances, streamline operations, and strengthen your foundation for growth.
At Wildfire, “people helping people” isn’t just the credit union way—it’s the heart of everything they do. They are proud to take that mission even further by giving back in meaningful ways. Their team contributes over 2,000 volunteer hours each year with:
🏛️ Civic Groups

🤝 many other organizations that make a difference locally.
It’s all part of giving back to communities the Wildfire way!
