MI Primary Care

Healthcare is a necessary part of our lives, and the medical professionals who provide these essential services work to enhance our quality of life on a daily basis. In 2020, Roberta Sue Hahn, NP-C saw the need for more primary health care options that strive for excellence. She then decided to open her own practice with MI Primary Care!

The practice started with a few hundred patients and to date has seen over 1,350 patients. The staff works to provide a comforting environment for patient care, and excellent customer service, which has allowed them to expand the practice by adding a second provider, Charlene Dengler, DNP/FNP/BC, and more clinical staff.

The provider’s motto is “We Serve Because We Care.” MI Primary Care plans to be in operation for many years to come, as one of only a few independent medical practices in Mt. Pleasant.

Hahn believes that striving for quality is essential to a successful business. With two providers who have over 50 years of combined experience in the healthcare industry, MI Primary Care sees existing patients the same day or within 24- 48 hours for urgent matters. New patients are routinely seen within 1-2 weeks after the office receives a completed new patient packet. The practice has an in-house phlebotomist with 22 years of experience. They pride themselves on assisting many of their patients with chronic disease and weight management. This is best achieved by following their philosophy to ensure that each patient has their unique needs met.

At MI Primary Care, the providers and patients work together to set new attainable goals to achieve outcomes. Patients often remark that they are more than a number; they are part of a family. One patient, who had multiple concerns that had been ignored for over 38 years, was able to lose over 100 pounds since becoming a MI Primary Care patient.

The staff says that it is always touching to have patients share their stories about things that have helped them. Hahn is proud to consistently hear patients say the office goes above and beyond. “We just treat patients how we want to be treated,” she stated. “It is emphasized that people do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care!”

One of the staff, Victoria, has been able to see a range of patient milestones, from patients graduating college, to having children, and having grandchildren. The most heartfelt moments are having patients come up in the store to give her a hug and tell her children what great care she provides to them.

MI Primary Care goes the extra mile to assist patients during difficult times, with staff visiting patients when they are in rehab, in a nursing home or on hospice care, and even attending funerals if they are able. “Care is always ongoing, and the journey is bittersweet some days and joyous others,” Hahn remarked.

MI Primary Care is currently taking new patients, 18 years and older.
