2026 event raises $4,966 for the Isabella County First Responder Fund, bringing three-year total beyond $10,000
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — October 26, 2026 — Three years of community support, countless miles walked and run, and a shared commitment to those who serve have added up to an incredible milestone. SERVPRO of Mt. Pleasant, Clare & Houghton Lake presented a check for $4,966 to the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department today, representing proceeds from the 2026 SERVPRO First Responder 5K. The funds will benefit the Isabella County First Responder Fund, managed by the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation.
With this year's contribution, the annual First Responder 5K has raised more than $10,000 over its first three years, marking a significant milestone for an event built around supporting the men and women who serve and protect the community!
What began as an opportunity to bring the community together in support of local first responders has grown into an annual tradition demonstrating the power of neighbors supporting neighbors. Participants, volunteers, and local supporters have all played an important role in making the event a success.
“I am incredibly proud of what this event has accomplished in three years,” said Brittany Smith, Community Engagement Manager at SERVPRO of Mt. Pleasant, Clare & Houghton Lake. “Surpassing $10,000 is a milestone that I am excited to celebrate, but what means the most is knowing that our community continues to show up for the men and women who show up for us every day. Every registration, donation, and volunteer hour has helped make this possible, and we are so incredibly grateful for the support.”
The Isabella County First Responder Fund provides a way to support the local first responder community, with the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation managing the fund. The donation reflects the community's appreciation for the individuals who respond to emergencies, protect local residents, and provide help during some of life's most difficult moments.
As a locally owned and operated business, SERVPRO of Mt. Pleasant, Clare & Houghton Lake believes in supporting the people and organizations that make the community stronger. The First Responder 5K reflects that commitment by bringing people together around a shared purpose: making a difference for those who serve others.
SERVPRO extends its heartfelt thanks to every participant, volunteer, and supporter who has contributed to the event over the past three years. This milestone belongs to the entire community, and the team looks forward to continuing the tradition and building on this impact in the years ahead.
Three years. More than $10,000 raised. One community showing up for those who show up for us.
