Isabella Bank Announces Promotion of Len Desormeau to HR Officer

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. July 9, 2026 - Isabella Bank Chief Human Resources Officer Patrick Mease announced the promotion of Len Desormeau to officer and human resources generalist. In his new role, Desormeau will continue to manage the bank’s recruitment and onboarding efforts, as well as support employee relations.

Desormeau’s day-to-day responsibilities include attending career fairs, overseeing the bank’s internship program and new-hire orientation process, and serving as chair of the Isabella Bank Young Professionals Network. Desormeau said he is committed to building strong relationships with staff members and expanding his knowledge of the bank and human resources trends to support key initiatives.

“I see my role in human resources as someone who supports the bank’s mission by ensuring we attract, retain, and continue to develop high-performing staff members,” Desormeau said. “By doing this, I can help create an environment where staff members are motivated and dedicated to providing exceptional service to our bank customers.”

Desormeau joined Isabella Bank in 2019 after beginning his career at Central Savings Bank, headquartered in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Over the past decade, he has worked in multiple areas of banking, with much of that time spent in human resources. Desormeau earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in human resources from Lake Superior State University. He also completed the Dale Carnegie Comprehensive Leadership and Communication program and received the Highest Achievement Award.

“This is a well-deserved promotion,” Mease said. “Len is always looking for new ways to tackle HR challenges and position himself as a trusted partner for the bank and its employees. I’m excited to see his continued growth as a leader within the organization.”

Outside the office, Desormeau is active in the Mt. Pleasant community. He volunteers with organizations, including Junior Achievement, where he teaches financial literacy to local youth, and Special Olympics Michigan. He serves on the Mt. Pleasant Workforce Development Committee, is a Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce ambassador, and served as the 2025 ambassador chair. He is also a graduate of the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce Rollie Denison Leadership Institute and its Capstone program.

In 2025, Desormeau received the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year Award. That same year, he was named among the 2025 Mid-Michigan 40 Under 40 honorees, presented by Middle Michigan Development Corp. and supported by Greater Gratiot Development Inc.

Desormeau and his wife, Cali, are proud to call Mt. Pleasant home. They are parents of two children, Rhett and Sadie, and have a family dog, June. The Desormeaus enjoy cheering on local high school and college athletic teams and spending time at the area’s many parks.
