Three Rivers Corporation Earns Seventh Consecutive National ABC Pinnacle Safety Award; Garrett Coyer wins Silver at National Craft Championships

Midland, Michigan, March 23—Three Rivers Corporation has announced it has earned a National Health and Safety Pinnacle Award from Associated Builders and Contractors, which was presented at the 36th annual Excellence in Construction® Awards during ABC Convention 2026 in Salt Lake City on March 19.

Presented to just 11 general contractors nationwide, Three Rivers earned the award for its industry-leading safety performance, comprehensive safety programs, and demonstrated commitment to protecting the health and well-being of employees, partners, and project stakeholders. This recognition marks the seventh consecutive year that Three Rivers has earned the Pinnacle Award, making it one of only two general contractors in the country to achieve this distinction.

“This honor is a reflection of the mindset that defines Three Rivers,” said Jon Lynch, President of Three Rivers Corporation. “Our team understands that safety is the foundation of everything we do, and they bring that focus to every jobsite, every day. Their commitment, professionalism, and care for one another are what make achievements like this possible.”

“The safety record of Three Rivers Corporation speaks for itself, setting the standard for a culture of care for its people,” said 2026 Chair of the ABC National Board of Directors Thomas “Murph” Murphy, Vice President of Power & Construction Group, Scottsville, New York. “Safety values remain consistent for Three Rivers Corporation, which are nearly seven times safer than the industry average. They are employers of choice because they refuse to compromise on health and safety for every single employee. Thank you to these safety leaders for transforming the status quo.”

Also, during ABC Convention 2026, Three Rivers employee Garrett Coyer earned a silver medal in the Pipefitting category at the National Craft Championships.

The 37th annual competition showcased the skills of more than 200 of the nation’s best craft professionals in trades like carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, power line and welding. The competitors vied for top honors in 15 competitions with skills on display in 11 crafts.

“Garrett’s performance reflects a high level of professionalism and dedication to his craft as a pipefitter,” said Jon Lynch. “His focus, technical ability, and execution throughout the competition set a strong example for others in the industry, and we are honored to have him as a member of the Three Rivers team.”

The 2025 National Health and Safety Excellence Award winners were selected from ABC member firms that achieved Diamond, Platinum or Gold status in ABC’s STEP® Health and Safety Management System in 2025, reflective of their 2024 safety performance data. During the selection process, contractors were judged on self-evaluation scores, lost workday case rates, total recordable incident rates, leading indicator use, process and program innovations and interviews conducted by members of ABC’s National Health and Safety Committee.
