Mid Students Awarded Head of the Class

Mid Michigan College student, Darion Artis (Gladwin), recently received the Head of the Class award from Malco Products, a major tool manufacturer based in Annandale, Minnesota.

"Darion is an exceptional student and exemplary representative of our HRA Program,” noted Ron Holmes, HRA Lead Faculty at Mid. His dedication is evident in everything he does—arriving early, staying late, and consistently going above and beyond expectations.”

“His leadership and collaborative spirit make him an invaluable member of our program. He has an unbelievably strong work ethic, unwavering determination, and a genuine desire to help others succeed," shared Holmes.

Each school term, Malco recognizes high-achieving students and entire graduating classes in the HVAC/sheet metal, building construction, and autobody repair fields through their Head of the Class Student Recognition Program.

Since 2005, the program has reached more than 85,000 students, from over 1,000 technical schools, Union Joint Apprenticeship Training Committees, and Industry Association education programs across the U.S. and Canada.

“This program has been an exceptional experience under the guidance of my instructors, Ron and Casey. I have been able to apply the skills I learned and gain additional insight from my work with AAA Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning in Gladwin,” said Artis.

Mid’s HRA lab features heating and refrigeration units for hands-on learning that prepare students to enter the workforce successfully. In addition, fast-track options allow students to earn multiple credentials and certifications in just one year, and 100% of students are placed in internships and jobs following graduation.
