When
Lisa Hadden attended Central Michigan University as an undergraduate
she fell in love with Mt. Pleasant and vowed to return someday and
make it her home. Now as a twenty year resident of the community, the
Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce has chosen Ms. Hadden to lead
the organization as its new President and CEO. She comes to the
Chamber with over thirty years’ leadership and executive experience in
organizational management, community and economic development, health
care administration and grassroots community capacity building. Ms.
Hadden is also recognized as a national expert in the field of Asset
Based Community Development.
Ms.
Hadden most recently served as President and CEO for Healthy Community
Partners, a non-profit in Saginaw Michigan engaged in community and
economic development activities. This work included neighborhood
revitalization efforts with St. Mary’s of Michigan hospital, the City
of Saginaw, and partnerships with several non-profit organizations.
She also served during this time on the leadership team at St. Mary’s
of Michigan Hospital in the capacity of Director of the Healthy
Futures Program, a network of seven free street clinics for the
homeless and uninsured. Her work experiences include leadership
positions in both non-profit and for-profit businesses as well as
experience in both remote rural and urban core areas.
Ms.
Hadden received her bachelor’s degree in education and her master’s
degree in English and Communications, both from Central Michigan
University. “I am blessed with a rich and varied background resulting
in the ability to bring diverse community groups together to create
positive partnerships across sectorial lines that enhance and connect
the many levels of the community.”
Ms.
Hadden currently serves on the board of directors for Central Michigan
Community Hospital and on the Advisory Council for the College of
Health Professions at Central Michigan University. “The board is
extremely excited to have Lisa join the Chamber,” states John Olson,
Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her experiences and abilities
make her an excellent fit for our organization.”
“I
am elated to join the Chamber as their Chief Executive Officer and
look forward to working with a highly energized board of directors and
outstanding staff to move forward with new and strategic initiatives
with the business community,” states Ms. Hadden. She will assume her
new responsibilities in mid April.
